Today’s project is not a fail in itself: a top-notch pattern (if I say so myself), a fabric with great drape, a print I love, and a pretty good result altogether. But getting a garment right on paper doesn’t always mean you’ll actually wear it!

If I had to choose only one pattern to sew and wear during the summer, it would definitely be the Goji shorts! Their short length and wide legs are perfect for dealing with the hot and humid summers in North Carolina, and I find them more flattering than classic shorts on pear silhouettes like mine.
My obsession for flamingo-print clothing continues, with this summery Datura blouse sewn a few years ago already!
In a totally different style from my teal floral Pensée dress, I sewed a solid black Pensée top that goes with everything. It goes to show that this pattern is more versatile than it looks!
One of my goals for my wardrobe is to sew more separates: I have a lot of dresses, but not many solid-colored tops or bottoms that can be combined with my printed garments. So here is a colorful combo, with a very red skirt sewn in 2017 and never posted here, paired with a very blue top sewn at the beginning of this year!
