As I was saying last week, my biggest fail of the year was this Chiara dress I wore on the 4th of July. A little bit of context to start: every year, for the 4th of July, I try to sew a red, white and blue outfit to celebrate (in previous episodes…). In 2017, I had set my sights on this white fabric embroidered with red and blue starts, and the Chiara dress from Wear Lemonade, a brand of patterns I hadn’t tried yet, despite having subscribed to their PDF club for a few months. I’ve heard that every self-respecting Parisian woman should have in their wardrobe a beige trench coat and a little black dress. Well, it’s been a while since I left Paris, and I’m not sure how self-respecting I am, but now I got my basics covered!
After a long hiatus in blogging and sewing for myself, I finally cleared some free time and found the way back to my sewing machine. And what’s best to get back in the game than sewing the patterns of the new Deer&Doe collection? That’s something I like to do with each release. Even after months of muslins and more-or-less-wearable versions sewn for work, it’s important to me to put my own twist on the patterns to mark the occasion.
