I know I mentioned this already: I loooove wearing maxi skirts and dresses in the summer! I think they create a very tall and feminine silhouette, and they protect my legs from the sun whithout clinging to them. I wear my Fumeterre skirts a lot (seen here and here), but the one I’ve worn the most these last three summers is definitely this one: a McCall’s M7121 dress in tropical jersey knit!
Today’s look is very “2015 Coachella”, with this floral rayon Nénuphar jacket. I’d wanted to post pictures of it for a while, and I thought it could be a good opportunity to bring up the recent discussions around the term “kimono” and share a couple questions about the technical vocabulary that has and/or could be used in its place. One of my goals for my wardrobe is to sew more separates: I have a lot of dresses, but not many solid-colored tops or bottoms that can be combined with my printed garments. So here is a colorful combo, with a very red skirt sewn in 2017 and never posted here, paired with a very blue top sewn at the beginning of this year!
