Aaah Moneta! It’s the third time I’ve sewn this pattern and it’s still as flattering and comfortable. Yet I fear that the more I make, the crazier my fabric choices get: the first one was in a solid color, the second one in classic florals on a black background, but this one is in a crazy bright yellow sunflower print on an electric blue background, 90s flashback style.

Now that wedding season is over and things got a little more quiet over here, I can finally take the time to show you all the dresses I made. And there are quite a few of them! For wedding number 5, I traveled to the Outer Banks, off the coast of North Carolina. The wedding was on the beach so I wanted a sleeveless dress, flowy but still retro. I chose to make the Carmen dress, a free pattern offered by Ralph Pink.

And here is the last pattern of the Deer&Doe fall-winter collection! After the Arum dress and the Fumeterre skirt, the only one left is the Cardamome dress. Unlike Arum, which pulled me out of my comfort zone style-wise, Cardamome is closer to what I’m used to sew and wear, as it it fitted at the waist and also because it’s a shirtdress ! (c.f. my recent obsession) Cardamome is ranked as a pattern for advanced sewists (a 4 out of 5 on the new Deer&Doe scale) because it is full of details: shirring, pockets, bib, collar with collar stand, and sleeve…

The day of a Deer&Doe release always feels kind of like Christmas morning. Today we were spoiled, as Eléonore released a full collection of three different patterns: the beginner-friendly Arum dress, the Fumeterre maxi-skirt and the forties-inspired Cardamome dress. Once again I was able to test de patterns, so I’m going to show you one per day, starting today with the Arum dress.

The wedding season continues! As my blogging schedule is very chaotic, I’m not showing you these dresses in the order I made them, but rather in the random order in which I manage to take pictures. After wedding number 1 in Virginia, wedding number 2 in Toulouse (where I wore the rockabilly cherries dress) and wedding number 3 in California, I went to Portland to attend wedding number 4.
