Today’s look is very “2015 Coachella”, with this floral rayon Nénuphar jacket. I’d wanted to post pictures of it for a while, and I thought it could be a good opportunity to bring up the recent discussions around the term “kimono” and share a couple questions about the technical vocabulary that has and/or could be used in its place. In a totally different style from my teal floral Pensée dress, I sewed a solid black Pensée top that goes with everything. It goes to show that this pattern is more versatile than it looks!
One of my goals for my wardrobe is to sew more separates: I have a lot of dresses, but not many solid-colored tops or bottoms that can be combined with my printed garments. So here is a colorful combo, with a very red skirt sewn in 2017 and never posted here, paired with a very blue top sewn at the beginning of this year!
Here is my version of the third pattern of the Deer&Doe spring-summer collection, the one who won the most hearts by a landslide: the famous Sirocco jumpsuit!
